FAQs
I like honesty and a wealth of information when choosing a service. Hopefully, you will find the answers you are looking for here, but if not, please do not hesitate to email me with your question, and I'll answer as best I can.

Which services should I use?

My 'Prenatal and early postnatal support' package is perfect for those expectant and new parents of little ones up to 12 weeks, who wish to be prepared to navigate their little one's sleep journey. If you want some initial support to help you along the way with achieving sleep goals but require minimal contact then the 'Set up support' is just for you. If you require more frequent contact over a 2-4 week duration then the 'Full consultation' is best suited to you. If you initially chose the 'Set up support' package, but decide you want further support along the way, then you would be required to make an extra payment covering the difference.

Does it matter what my sleep goals are?

Whether you are looking to have your baby learn to self-soothe, transition to their own room or own bedspace, wean off night feeds, break sleep associations, introduce other involvement in the bedtime process, or have your little one sleep through, then I'm able to help. I will work with you if you co-sleep and want to continue to co-sleeping, and I will work with you if you want to continue soothing your baby. I want you to understand your goals are my goals, and I will be honest with you if I believe it could be difficult to achieve or if I'm simply unable to help you. There is no right or wrong with how you choose to manage this and you have to believe that your choices are made to suit your family situation.

When is the right time to sleep train my baby? When will they be ready?

There is not a one size fits all with this question. All babies are very different and there are numerous factors that can complicate sleep training. Some babies can be sleep trained as early as 12 weeks if they demonstrate self-soothing behaviours but it is only recommended to focus on night time sleep. I will work with families at this time, if the conditions are right. Results may vary and are subject to regressions further down the line, but can result in a strong foundation for developing positive sleep habits. Napping is a bit too complicated for our little ones to train this early on. Between 4 and 6 months can be an ideal time for sleep training to include nap training. You can choose to sleep train for night time sleep and naps separately or together depending on what you wish. There are some key challenges during this time period to note, including: The 4 month sleep regression, learning to roll and sit up and often the start of teething. Sleep training can of course happen anytime after, and I will work with families of little one's up until the age of 2.

What methods are used and will there be any crying?

I use a variety of methods and I tailor my service to what aligns with you. This we can discuss in our discovery call and I will inform you of the different options available to you. When making new changes there may be some crying as your little one adapts, learning the new skill of self-settling, but I do use techniques that involve minimal tears if that is more suited to you. Some methods are room-based, others involve re-entering the room. You may have your preferences but also consider what your little one is going to respond to best. Some babies become more frustrated with physical comfort during the process, whilst others would benefit more from it, so we would discuss all of this before making the right decision.

Can you guarantee my little one will sleep through?

I will work with you, make a personalised plan that is fitting for your family, and so long as there is consistency, patience, that you are willing to make changes, training is done at the right time for your little one and any obstacles or variables are addressed, then there is no reason why there should not be positive results. If you feel there are any barriers that crop up during the consultation period that could affect the training, discuss these with me and under reasonable circumstances I am happy to postpone to a later date. Unfortunately, just like any sleep consultant, I cannot absolutely guarantee results, but if it's felt things are not improving, we will schedule a review consultation call to discuss how we move forward.

How long will the process take?

This depends on the methods chosen , your little one's temperament, their age and developmental stage. With consistency, patience, and a willingness to see it through, the process should show results. If you want quicker results there are some methods that may show progress in a matter of days, but this may not align with you so it is important to think about what matters to you most in this process. I will help you to choose what feels right for you and your family.

How is payment taken?

After having a discovery call, if you agree to take on my services, I will send a payment link across to you. I will need to receive the payment in full, before I can proceed with your support. As long as payment is received everything can go ahead as planned. If booking the Prenatal/ Early Postnatal Support package then payment would be expected in full before the arranged video call.
